Recompile is a 3D action platformer with metroidvania-style exploration, in which players control a rogue program making its way through a vast, abstract computer system.

Exploration gradually unlocks new abilities that open up previously unreachable areas, while combat and hacking are used to deal with hostile programs. Its surreal digital world and themes of artificial life give it a distinctive tone.
