Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance is an action RPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms setting, offering fast paced hack and slash combat as players fight through dungeons and city streets in the region around Baldur's Gate.

Character progression and loot collection support a straightforward, combat focused loop, with cooperative play letting a second player join the fight. Its arcade style approach to the D&D setting contrasts with the series' more tactical mainline entries.
