Resident Evil 1 is Capcom's remake of the original survival horror classic, in which S.T.A.R.S. members Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine become trapped in a mansion in the woods outside Raccoon City. Zombies and other creatures roam its halls, and every bullet and healing herb counts.

Fixed camera angles, limited saves and item-box inventory management shape the tension, while puzzles and locked doors gradually open up the mansion and its dark secrets. Each character follows a slightly different route through the story.
