Elite Dangerous is a space simulation set in a vast, persistent recreation of the Milky Way, letting players pilot spacecraft across trading routes, combat encounters, and exploration missions at a massive galactic scale. A shared online universe connects players' actions.

Its deep flight and ship-management systems support careers ranging from bounty hunting to mining to long-distance exploration, giving players broad freedom in how they make their way through a galaxy modeled on real astronomical data.
