Rainbow Cotton is a rail shooter in the Cotton series, following the young witch Cotton on her quest for the magical Willow candy. Players fly through levels while shooting enemies coming from all sides.

Magic attacks and power-ups help her survive, while bosses test aiming and reaction skills. The remake refreshes the original's visuals and controls while keeping its colorful, lighthearted style.
