Final Fantasy VII is the classic role-playing game following mercenary Cloud Strife and an eco-terrorist group fighting a powerful corporation draining the planet's life force, while a mysterious former soldier threatens the world. Turn-based combat and the Materia system for customizing abilities define its battles.

Its emotionally driven story and iconic cast helped define the JRPG genre for a generation, combining environmental themes, personal tragedy, and large-scale conflict across a memorable, sprawling adventure.
