NIOH 2 is a prequel to the original game, following a half-yokai warrior through a brutal, supernatural retelling of feudal Japan's Sengoku period. Souls-like combat returns with expanded stance-switching, weapon variety, and the new ability to absorb yokai souls for special attacks.

Players build custom loadouts from an array of weapons and gear, taking on demanding missions and bosses that test precision and patience. It's aimed at fans of punishing, loot-driven action RPGs.
