Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
This Cookie Policy lists the cookies this website actually sets, what each one does, and how to control them. It is short, because this store uses very few cookies.
1. The summary
KEY4GAMES sets only cookies that are strictly necessary to make the store work — to keep your cart, to remember which currency you are viewing prices in, and to keep you signed in if you have an account.
We do not use analytics cookies. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. We do not run third-party tracking of any kind — no advertising pixels, no social media trackers, no cross-site profiling. Nothing on these pages reports your browsing to another company.
That is also why you are not greeted by a consent banner. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under EU rules, and we have nothing else to ask you about. If that ever changes — if we add analytics, for example — we will ask for your consent first, and this page will be updated before the change takes effect.
2. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on your next request. It is what lets a website recognise that two page loads came from the same person. Without cookies a shop cannot keep a cart: every page would forget what the last one did.
3. The cookies we set
Cart and checkout
Set by WooCommerce, the shop software behind this store. They appear when you add something to your cart and are what makes checkout possible.
- wp_woocommerce_session_… — a session identifier linking your browser to the cart stored on our server. It holds the reference, not the contents.
- woocommerce_items_in_cart — records that your cart is not empty, so the cart indicator in the header is correct.
- woocommerce_cart_hash — a fingerprint of the cart’s contents, so a cached page never shows you a stale cart.
These expire when your session ends or shortly after. They contain no name, no email address and no payment data.
Currency preference
- k4g_currency — remembers whether you chose to view prices in EUR, USD or UAH. It stores nothing but that three-letter code, and it lasts one year so that your choice survives between visits.
Worth repeating here: this cookie changes what you see, not what you pay. Orders are charged in euro whatever the display currency says.
Signing in
Set by WordPress, and only if you have an account and log in. Ordering does not require an account, so most customers never receive these.
- wordpress_logged_in_… — identifies you as a signed-in user across page loads.
- wordpress_sec_… — the equivalent for pages served over a secure connection.
- wp-settings-… — remembers interface preferences inside the account and admin screens.
These are authentication cookies. Blocking them means you cannot stay signed in.
4. Cookies we do not set
For the avoidance of doubt, and because this is the part most cookie policies are vague about, this website currently contains no:
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or any other analytics script;
- advertising or remarketing pixel from any network;
- social media button, embed or tracker;
- heatmap, session-recording or A/B testing tool;
- third-party cookie of any other kind.
Our server does keep ordinary access logs — the request, the time, the IP address — but those are written by the server itself, not by a cookie, and they are covered in our Privacy Policy rather than here.
5. How to control cookies
Your browser is where cookies are controlled, and you can block or delete them at any time. The setting lives under Privacy in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari; the browser’s own help pages give the current steps for your version. You can also browse in a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when you close it.
Be aware of the trade-off. Because every cookie we set is a functional one, blocking them has visible consequences: your cart will empty between pages, the currency switcher will forget your choice on every visit, and if you have an account you will not be able to stay signed in. Nothing you block here will stop tracking, because there is no tracking to stop.
6. Changes to this policy
If we add a cookie, it will be listed here before it is used, and any cookie that is not strictly necessary will be asked about rather than assumed. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect.
