Earthfall is a cooperative first-person shooter in which a team of up to four players fights waves of alien invaders on an Earth under attack. Deployable barricades and turrets can be placed to hold defensive positions.

Its structure draws on team-based survival shooters, requiring coordination to defend key points and push through alien-controlled areas. Teamwork matters more than solo heroics, as the alien hordes quickly overwhelm players who split up.
