Age of Wonders Planetfall is a turn-based 4X strategy game that moves the Age of Wonders formula from fantasy into science fiction. Set after the collapse of a galaxy-spanning empire, it has players lead one of several distinct factions rebuilding civilization on a hostile alien world.

Across a campaign or skirmish matches, players explore ruined landscapes, research technology, manage colonies, and fight tactical battles against rival factions and dangerous alien life. The mix of diplomacy, base building, and turn-based combat gives each playthrough a different strategic shape depending on the faction chosen.
