Dragon Age: Inquisition is BioWare's biggest, prettiest, and most epic yet. It does not look like either the first or the second part, but it is quite simple to trace how it became that way.
This is the result of a long search. In Mass Effect 2, BioWare learned how to get rid of redundant parts, in Dragon Age 2, they actually dropped everything and began to look for a new path. No matter how attractive the fantasy about the new Origins seemed to many, one problem remained: the first part was too afraid to deviate from the D & D canons and those mechanisms that were in KotOR and Neverwinter Nights. And this is clearly not what Dragon Age should stand out for today, when things like Divinity: Original Sin and Pillars of Eternity appear without it.
In Inquisition, BioWare has gathered everything it has learned over the years and moved on. Here, the studio is experimenting for the first time with large scale and open world - and sensibly, and not like riding a Mako in the first Mass Effect. However, this is not half as important as it might seem. Inquisition is still dominated by the written universe and characters, and the open world is of little importance.
