Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Vol. 1 compiles the earlier entries of the network-hacking action-RPG spin-off series, following a boy and his NetNavi battling viruses in a digitized world. It preserves the series' grid-based battle system and chip-collecting progression.

Players build out their NetNavi's move set with collected battle chips and take on encounters across the included games. It's aimed at fans wanting to start the Battle Network story from its earlier chapters.
