Super Mario 3D World Bowsers Fury combines an updated version of the original Wii U platformer with a new adventure, Bowser's Fury, set in an open, explorable island world. The main game keeps its cooperative, cat-suit-powered platforming across bite-sized levels, while Bowser's Fury introduces a more free-roaming structure with a giant, corrupted Bowser looming over the action.

Together the two experiences offer both traditional level-based Mario platforming and a more open take on the formula, playable solo or with others. It's aimed at fans of classic Mario platforming who also want to see the series experiment with new structures.
