Touhou New World is an action role-playing game set in the Touhou universe, sending characters through Gensokyo on quests that mix exploration, combat, and character progression. Players build up their favorite characters while battling youkai across varied locations.

The action-RPG format is a departure from the series' usual bullet-hell shooting, focusing instead on melee and ranged combat with RPG-style growth. It appeals to Touhou fans interested in a more traditional adventure structure.
